Tom is an enthusiastic and experienced piano teacher. He is approachable and makes a real effort to make every student feel comfortable.

He is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he studied with Isobel Anderson. He is also the holder of an ABRSM teaching diploma.

He began studying piano at the juniors department at Edinburgh Napier University where he was fortunate to be tutored by Simon Coverdale and Jamie Lang.

Tom has worked with students of all ages and abilities and tailors each lesson to the needs of every individual student. He is dedicated to help every student fulfil their potential and reach their individual goals.

He instills good technique right from the very beginning so that students are able to play freely and without any tension. He strongly believes in the benefits of reading sheet music and learning by ear, and incorporates his deep knowledge of music theory into all his lessons.

Tom loves all different kinds of music and has experience playing in many different settings. His main interests are classical and jazz. He is also an aspiring composer and has written music for short films and theatre.
